ROCKMELT

I just read an interesting article about a new browser called Rockmelt. Yes indeed there is a new browser in town and you are probably shaking your head and thinking to yourself, "why ?, we don't need a new browser, we have too may to choose from already !". Well, according to this article in Reve News, Barry Silverstein says that Rockmelt isn't in the race wars to win favorite browser because it's an entirely new type of browser, it's a " social browser ". This is not a new concept, as there is already a similar social browser on the market called Flock. You can read a comparison review of the two in this article written by PC Mag.com which basically says that Rockmelt is more user-friendly than Flock. So, what exactly does Rockmelt do ? Well, it has built in social features that display most people's three top browsing behaviors, such as social networking, news information and of course, searching. Could this be the future of browsing ? The creators of Rockmelt think so and maybe they are right. It has all of the social sites and activites that we use daily on our computer at our fingertips without having to leave the first page. It saves time, limits the amount of windows we need to open up at once and takes browsing to a whole new level of functional capabilities. It's like having all of our favorite sites on one page. If this is the future of browsing, you can bet there will be a whole "flock" of best new social browsers to follow. Google will certainly want to be one of them, since Google Chrome is still not as popular as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. What do you think about this new browser ? Do you "like" Rockmelt ? Will it rock or will it melt ? I say ... "ROCK" !
